Ok we finally sorted out the details (I think) for the Big Dubai / Abu Dhabi Knit Out
Who: The Desert Knitters & us the U-knitted Amiras!
When: Friday, January 30th
Where: Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai at the Lime Tree Cafe
How: Maybe we can work out a Caravan from Abu Dhabi
Why: there's been talk of knitting, gabbing and fantastic cake!
Bonus: If you are joining in the February Lady Sweater KAL then we will be casting on as a group then!
I really hope everyone can make it because it will be a blast! and there's talk of some new knitters showing up! Oh the suspense!

Ladies, wondeful blog.
I'm new to the city, and very willing to knit.
I can not find needles and thread, preferably wool anywhere yet. Could you please advise if there is a shop for people who knit, and I also like to by beeds and strings, haven't seen them anywhere either.
Could you help me out with some addresses?
Are you a member of Ravelry? We have a group there called "UAE Knitters" and we have had a few discussions in the forums on where to buy yarn etc.
There is the Green Branch (they are in the phone book). They have a small selection which can get you started. If you come along on the 30th, Jennifer will be there and she also has some yarn and needles for sale.
PS. I can't wait for the 30th!
